Bariatric Advantage® Calcium Citrate Chewy Bite 500 is specially formulated for metabolic and bariatric patients. The American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) guidelines1 call for 1,200-1,500 mg of calcium per day for most metabolic and bariatric surgery patients except biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch (BPD-DS) patients, for whom the recommendation is 1,800-2,400 mg per day.1

Product Description

Bariatric Advantage Calcium Citrate Chewy Bite 500 mg is specially formulated for bariatric patients, utilizing 500 mg calcium from only calcium citrate and delivering 500 IU of vitamin D3 to support calcium absorption. Available in delicious flavors like Chocolate, Caramel, Peanut Butter Chocolate, Tropical Orange, Strawberry, Lemon, Raspberry, Coconut, Pineapple Mango, Assorted Fruit & Assorted Sweet Flavors. Sugar-free. Individually wrapped.

Calcium citrate is more bioavailable than some other forms of calcium, and is recommended for bariatric patients.1 It can be taken any time of the day, with or without food while other forms of calcium need to be taken with food for absorption. Additionally, calcium citrate may be more easily absorbed by patients who have had bariatric procedures that result in reduced stomach acids, as it does not require stomach acids for absorption.1 Calcium requires vitamin D3 for absorption.

ASMBS guidelines call for 1,200-1,500 mg calcium per day for patients most bariatric procedure types, with the exception ofBiliopancreatic DiversionDuodenal Switch (BPD-DS) patients, where they call for 1,800-2,400 mg per day.2 Divided doses are recommended with no more than 500 mg being consumed at once.

Great Taste

I love these chewy calcium vitamins. I always buy the caramel flavored and the various fruity flavor. I take 2 a day and love the taste. I totally recommend these vitamins.

These are great! They taste like strawberry Starburst! Also softer and easier to chew than the chocolate flavor. Will order again.

Love these!!

I’ve been using the chewy bites since after my surgery which was June 2019. They are very flavorful and don’t leave a nasty taste in your mouth. I just recently ordered the assorted fruit flavors and let me tell you I am in love!!! Like I’m eating a bag of starburst, every flavor is sooo good!! I also like the tropical mango. Get them now, what are you waiting for!?!?
